Note: This feature is available only in 'Hybrid' authentication mode. To know about the different modes of authentication, see the help in the AVEVA Mobile Operator web application.

  1. Right-click the Users pane and click Add New User from AD.

The Select User from Active Directory window appears.

  2. Enter the domain name and the first or last name of the user in the text boxes.

    The Search button is enabled.

  3. Click Search.

The Active Directory list of users matching the name appears. If the domain name provided is incorrect, an error message appears.

  4. Select a user from the list and click OK.

The Select User from Active Directory window closes.

  5. View the Active Directory user in the Users tab. The Change Password on Next Login check box can be modified in the User pane. All other user details are non-editable for Active Directory users.

Note: Users added through Active Directory will require a password to access AVEVA Mobile Operator applications.

  6. Optional: If you do not want to use an Active Directory password to access the AVEVA Mobile Operator application, then you can set a local password for the Active Directory user by doing the following steps:

Note:The 'Set Local Password' feature is available only for the Active Directory users in Hybrid mode.

    1. From the User pane, select Set Local Password check box to set password for an Active Directory user.

    2. In the Users tab, right-click the user, and select Edit Password.

      The Edit Password window appears.

    3. Enter and confirm the new password.

The Active Directory user can now use this new password to sign in to the AVEVA Mobile Operator app.

  7. Click the File menu in Security Manager and select Save to save the changes. Alternately, you can press CTRL+S or right-click the tab and select Save.

Note: Modifications (adding and removing a user) made to Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) groups may take time to reflect as they are dependent on the responsiveness of the AD and Azure AD services. For more information about AD and Azure AD services, see the Microsoft Documentation.
