Select multiple list items

In many cases, a list will allow selection of multiple items within that list. There are two easy methods to select multiple items which can be combined with one another. Begin by selecting one item in the list, for example a Base when configuring Shift Groups.

Then, either:
-
Hold down the SHIFT key on the keyboard, and click another item in the list. This will result in the selection of a range of items: the first item selected, the item that was just clicked, and all items in between.

-
Or, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard, and click another item in the list. This will result in the selection of the first item selected, and the item that was just clicked.

As mentioned previously, these methods can be combined. The CTRL key must be held down so long as multiple selection is desired, but the SHIFT key can be used intermittently during this process to select a range.
For example, look at the result of step 2 again. Pictured below is the selection that would occur if a user next held down both CTRL and SHIFT and clicked another item further down the list.

Holding down the SHIFT button made the selection cover the range between the item that was just selected, and the item that was selected immediately before it.
