Detail Manager

Note that Detail Manager uses the Web API to retrieve and write data to the database. It requires a URL to the API server which is added via a new System Configuration:

Since the communication with Web API server uses the secure HTTPS protocol, users have to obtain a digital certificate and bind it to a selected port such as 5000.

To launch Asset Detail Manager

  1. Login to the Management Center using a valid User ID and Password.

  2. Click on Asset Detail Manager to open the Asset Detail Manager tab.

    Note: Before working with the Asset Detail Manager Snapin, the required permissions should be given for the current logged user.

  3. Click on the Asset Detail Manager tab to display the contents of the Asset Detail Manager screen.

Detail Manager Interface

The Asset Detail Manager includes two views: Detail Manager and Import Manager. By default, the Detail Manager is opened.

The Detail Manager screen consists of the fields Asset Type and Asset. You can also view attached Properties. The option Bulk Attached Property Deletion is set to No by default, which allows the user to filter the Attached Properties based on the selected Asset. If the Yes button is selected, the user can view all attached properties of all Assets.

Before working on Asset Detail Manager, the required permissions should provisioned for the current logged user.

Click on the Search Asset Types button to view all the AVEVA Mobile Operator Assets Types.

The Available Asset Types window will appear, as shown in the following image.

Note: The OK button will be unavailable until at least one Asset Type is selected from the grid.

Searching Asset Types

You can also filter searching of Asset Types by using the different options listed below.

  • Begins with- If any letter is given in search box, the Asset Type list will display all the Asset Types beginning with given letter.

  • Ends with – Similar to Begin with the letter given in search box will display the Asset Types ending with that particular letter.

  • Contains- Any letter or number contained in Asset Type Name is given and search is performed, the Asset Types list related to that will be displayed.

    1. Select a filter option from the Enter Search dropdown and enter search criteria in the text box, then click the search icon().

      The selected Asset Type will display in the Asset Type text box.

    2. Click the Search Assets button to map all Assets with the Asset Types.

      The available Assets mapped with the selected Asset Type will be displayed in the Available Assets grid, as shown in the following image.

      Note:
      - The OK button will be unavailable until at least one Asset is selected from the grid.
      - You can also filter searching of Assets via the same method provided earlier in the section Searching Asset Types.

    Working with Attached Properties

    Properties attached to the selected Asset are displayed under Properties.

    To add a property

    1. Click on Add button () to add Property to the configured Asset.

    2. Provide a valid Property Name and Value to add the property to the configured Asset.

      Notes:
      - The Property Name should be unique for the selected Asset.
      - The Property Name is not an editable parameter while the Value is an editable parameter.
      - The maximum limit the user can enter characters for Property Name is 50.
      - The maximum limit the user can enter characters for Value is 255.
      - Property Name does not accept special characters and spaces except "_".
      - Property Name should not start with numeric character.

    3. Select the Send To Mobile checkbox if you want to send the value to the mobile device.

      The Application Name is auto-populated by the system. If you have added the value via Management Center, the Application Name appears as 'General'.

    4. Click on the Save button to save the attached property to the configured Asset, upon success a confirmation message appears.

      Once the property for the Asset is saved successfully, the properties already saved will be displayed under Properties the next time the Asset is opened.

      User can also update the value of the attached property by clicking on Value. After changing the value, click Save to save the changes.

      Notes:
      Value is an editable parameter while Property Name is not.
      Property Name must be a unique Name.

      Deleting a Property

      1. The user can delete a property attached to an Asset by clicking on the Delete Properties button. A confirmation message, Do you want to delete the selected Properties will appear for the user to delete, will appear. Click Yes to delete.

        Notes:

        The deleted properties will only be updated after clicking Save.

      2. Click on the Bulk Attached Property Deletion Yes radio button. The Attached Properties grid will appear and the user can delete the existing attached properties.

      3. Click on Add Attached Properties button as shown below.

      4. All available Attached properties of all assets in AVEVA Mobile Operator will be displayed in the Available Attached Properties grid.

        Note: The OK button will be unavailable until at least one Attached Property is selected from the grid.

      5. User can also filter searching of Attached Properties via the same method listed earlier in this section.

      6. The selected Attached Properties will be displayed in the Attached Properties grid. Note that only Property Names will be displayed.

      7. The user can delete a property attached to an Asset by clicking on the Delete Properties button. A confirmation message, Do you want to delete the selected Properties will appear for the user to delete, will appear. Click Yes to delete.

      8. Click Save to save the deleted properties.

        Notes:

        The deleted properties will get updated only on clicking the Save button.

        To reset the screen click on the Refresh button ().

        The deleted properties using Bulk Attached Property Deletion will be removed from all assets from which it is attached.
