The keypad, shown below, is a calculator interface used to enter mathematical elements of the Formula. Click "Backspace" to erase the last digit entered, "Clear" to erase the entire Formula, or any of the other buttons to enter the appropriate digit.

-
The "Response List" and "Status List" buttons enable the selection of Response List or Status List items for inclusion in the Formula:
-
Click one of these buttons to display a browser of the appropriate type.
-
Choose the desired Reponse or Status from the provided list.
-
Click OK to insert a properly formatted formula containing the List item’s GUID in the "Formula" text box at the location of the cursor.
These functions achieve the same results as:
-
Dragging and dropping a Response or Status from an open List to the "Response List" field in a Task, or Status List item to the "Status List" field in a Task Group (see List Groups and Items to a field)
-
Or clicking the ellipsis next to the "Status List" or "Response List" items and selecting a Status or Response from the provided browser (see Task Group Attributes - General tab).
For a Status List, this function will insert a formula like the following example:
@STATUSITEM("{6fafca9e-2781-4352-a90d-6ec3d8c3d36c}", "{903ffec5-c685-4d1a-b2a9-57260aa22944}")
Although entered by the Expression Editor itself, this formula must pass validation (see Formula validation) before you can click OK to accept it.
