Copy and move Procedure instances

Another way to perform cut-and-paste or copy-and-paste maneuvers on a Procedure Instance in the Schedule Manager Calendar is by dragging it to another Cell.

To Move (cut and paste) or Copy (copy and paste) a Procedure Instance:

  1. Click the desired Procedure Instance, holding down the left mouse button.

  2. Drag the mouse pointer to the desired location.

    1. To move the Procedure Instance, release the mouse button.

    2. To copy the Procedure Instance, press and hold the CTRL key on the keyboard, release the mouse button, then release the CTRL key.

  3. If the moved or copied Procedure Instance is part of a Series, a prompt will appear, appropriate to a Move, or Copy, function, reading (for example) "Moving a series is not allowed (you can change the date by editing the schedule) but you can move this occurrence of the schedule. Would you like to move this occurrence of ProcedureName?"

    1. OK: Moves or Copies only the Procedure Instance dragged. The remaining Procedures in the Series will not be modified unless Moving, in which case the Series’ Schedule will now include an Exception for the Moved Procedure.

    2. Cancel: Cancels the Move or Copy operation, ensuring that no modifications are made.

  4. The Edit Schedule dialog will then appear, allowing modifications to the newly created Procedure Instance or Series. See Understand scheduling Procedures for more information on creating and editing Procedure Schedules.

Note: Since this operation performs a Paste, some of the pasted Procedure Instance’s, or Series’, Occurrence values will change. See the Paste section under Procedure context menu for more information.
