Resolution

In the CSV file, for the rows of the type 'List', you must select one of the resolutions "Rename source" or "Use target”.

  • Rename source: If you select Rename source, then the column (new) AppItemId should be filled with a new Application Item Id. Source Response List and Response List Item will be migrated to a target database without a change in their Primary Key.

Note: Source Response List Items can also have the same Application Id and Application Item Id as target list items. You can use the column (new) AppItemId to enter a new Application Item Id for those Response List Items to resolve the conflicts.

  • Use target: If you select Use target, then the source Response List will not be migrated to the target database.

When using this resolution, the source Response List Items are automatically mapped to comparable list items in the target Response List (that is: same Application Id and Application (system or record) or Response List value). The source Response list Items that do not have comparable items, are added as new child to the target Response List.

After selecting the required resolution and fixing the changes required in the CSV file, you need to import the CSV file as specified in step 3 of the topic Response List.

When you select Rename Source as the resolution, you may still see a conflict after importing the CSV file. This might be because of duplicate (new) AppItemId in the CSV file and therefore, you may have to rename the (new) AppItemId. You can use the log file (available at \SiteMerge\bin\Release\Logs) to identify the conflict and fix it in the CSV file by performing the following steps:

  1. Close the Site Merge Utility.

  2. From the Logs folder (at SiteMerge\bin\Release\Logs), open the log file and identify the specific (new) AppItemId creating the conflict.

  3. Open the CSV file and identify the (new) AppItemId that has the duplicate ID.

  4. Rename the (new) AppItemId.

  5. Launch the Utility and import the updated CSV file.

The Response List conflict is resolved.
