Sync Server

Use Sync Server settings to configure the connection settings for the Server.

Note: If App and the Sync Server are in the same machine, you must enable the network loopback to connect to the Sync Server.

To enable network loopback

  1. Download the EnableLoopBackUtility (https://telerik-fiddler.s3.amazonaws.com/fiddler/addons/enableloopbackutility.exe).

  2. Run the EXE file.

    The AppContainer Loopback Exemption Utility window displays the list of applications with Windows Loopback Exemption.

  3. Select AVEVA Mobile Operator and click Save Changes.

Note: You can also run the following command in the command prompt:
CheckNetIsolation LoopbackExempt -a -n="<application_package_name>"

To access Sync Server settings

  1. Tap the Menu button, and then tap Settings.

    The Settings screen appears.

  2. Tap Sync Server.

    The Sync Server screen appears.

    Configure Sync Server settings as follows:

    Sync Server Name

    Sync server name is the machine name or IP address of the computer where the Server is installed.

    Port

    Port is the port configured for communication on the Server.

    Type a value between 1 and 65535.

    The default value is 5800.

    Connection Timeout

    The Connection Timeout (in seconds) is a duration till when the connection to the sync server would be attempted.

    Type a value between 20 to 60.

    The default value is 20.

    Note: If an operator enters an incorrect value and leaves the Sync Server Settings page, the timeout value will be reset to 20 seconds.

    To test the connection to the Sync Server

    • On the Action bar, tap Test.

      • If the connection to the Server is successful, then an information message appears. Tap OK to close the message.

      • If the connection to the Server is not successful, then an error message appears. Correct the issue, and then try again.

    Resolving Sync Server connectivity errors

    When the connection to the Sync Server is not successful, check and correct:

    • Sync Server Name, Port, and Connection Timeout – Ensure the machine name or IP address and the port for the Server is valid.

    • Network connectivity – Ensure network access is enabled and both the Server and the mobile device are connected to the network.

    • Server availability – Ensure the Server is up and running, and the Sync Service is started.

    Server connectivity – Ensure the firewall on the Server is allowing communication from the app.
