AVEVA™ Mobile Operator

Calculation Migration Utility

  • Last UpdatedJul 18, 2024
  • 2 minute read

You can use the Calculation Migration Utility to migrate calculation expressions from the prior versions of Mobile Operator to a new version of invariant culture. By using this utility, calculation expressions are migrated for Released, Deactivated, and Under-construction Procedures for the logged-in plant and the selected base(s). However, if there are multiple revisions of a Procedure, then calculation expressions of only the Released and the latest Under-construction (if available) are migrated.

The utility does not create any new version of the Procedures after migration and ignores calculation expressions for the deleted Procedures.

Note: The plant's culture must match with the procedure configuration data. For example, Portuguese procedures must only be migrated when their plant's culture is also Portuguese.

Configuring the Utility

You need to first configure Calculation Migration Utility by using the dll files provided in the Installation media. The following are the steps to configure the utility:

  1. From the Installation media, navigate to the \Products\Utilities\CalculationMigrate folder, copy the CalculationMigrate.dll file to Client\Extensions folder.

  2. For languages other than English, from the Installation media, navigate to the \Products\Utilities\CalculationMigrate\<Language_folder>, copy the CalculationMigrate.resources.dll file to Client\<Language_folder>. For example, for German, copy CalculationMigrate.resources.dll from Installation media “de” folder to Client “de” folder.

The 'Calculation Migration' submenu appears in the Utilities menu of the Procedure Builder in the Management Center.

Running the Utility:

The following are the steps to run the Calculation Migration Utility:

  1. From the Procedure Builder, click Utilities, and then select Calculation Migration.

The option to select base(s) appears.

  2. Select the bases and click Next.

The Migration Summary screen appears and shows the result with base name and number of Procedures migrated.

  3. Click OK.

    The Calculation Migration Utility closes.

You can view the status of the migration in the ArchestrA Logger.

    NOTES:
    - After the migration is complete, restart Mobile Operator Synchronization Service to release the cache, and perform a full sync to the mobile app to get all the migrated calculations.
    - It is recommended to remove CalculationMigrate.dll and CalculationMigrate.resources.dll files once the migration is complete.
