Task Group Attributes - General tab

Next, set the attributes of the Task Group as desired on the General tab.

Title: This required field, which is limited to 255 characters, identifies the Task Group in AVEVA Mobile Operator and audits. This is often set to the name of the Asset upon, or the area in, which the Tasks in this Task Group will be performed.

Description: Type a Description, if desired, to provide more verbose information regarding the Task Group. This field is limited to 2000 characters.

Asset Selection:

Inherit Asset: This option configures the Task Group to use the asset selected by its parent.

Dynamic Asset: Select this option to allow the Operator to select the Asset for this Task Group when working the Procedure. See the description of Dynamic vs. Static assets under Assets.

Static Asset: This option allows you to select the Asset while building the Procedure. If selected the "Asset" section appears.

Click the ellipsis (
) button and choose the Asset from the Asset List browser that appears.

To remove an Asset from association with a Task Group, click the "X" (
) button.

Asset Type: (Only available if "Dynamic Asset" is selected.) If desired, you may narrow the Operator’s Asset selection to Assets of the selected Type (see Asset Types).

Allow Sub-Types: (Only available if "Dynamic Asset" is selected and an Asset Type is selected.) , Allows the Operator to pick an asset whose asset type is a sub-type (child) of the selected Asset Type.

Asset Type Property: This optional field becomes available after assigning an Asset to this Task Group in order to enable creation of Shared Data Points. To create a Shared Data Point:

Click the ellipsis (
) button to select a Shared Data Point to attach from the browser that appears, then
click OK to accept the selection. Alternately, drag and drop and Asset Type Property
to this field from an open List.

Click the "X" (
) button to clear the Asset Type Property setting.

Mobile History: Governs the amount of historical data sent to the handheld.
Note: The "Mobile History" setting is not available if an Asset Type Property is selected. In this case, the "Mobile History" setting of the Asset Type Property is used.
Note: Shared Data Points are not shared across Bases.

Default: Uses the system setting defined in the web application (see AVEVA Mobile Operator Web Help) to determine the amount of historical data sent.

Days: Sends the amount of data points read in the last X days to the mobile application. After choosing this option, enter an appropriate value in the "Number of Days:" field that appears.

Points: Sends the last X data points read to the mobile application. After choosing this option, enter an appropriate value in the "Number of Points:" field that appears.

Status List: This function is used to define the Task Group (and its associated Asset, if applicable) as either active or inactive as per the configuration of the Status List (see Status List). A Task Group’s Status also determines the availability of its children (whether Task Groups or Tasks), skipping all those not configured to "Ignore Parent Status."
First, choose a Status list in one of two fashions.

By clicking the ellipsis (
) button and selecting a Status List from the browser that appears.

By dragging the desired Status List from the List Manager window and then dropping it into the "Status List" text field (see List Groups and Items to a field).
To remove Status List association, click the red "X" (
) button.
Next, configure Status selection either by mobile application user input, or by Calculation.

Display Type on Mobile: Selecting this option, you can display the Task Group status List items with radio buttons or Pop-up window view. The radio button display is allowed only if there are up to six status list items.

Default - Displays a pop-up overlay window for Status List item selection on the mobile. It displays all the items that are available for a Status list.

Radio Button - Displays the Status List items with radio button. The radio button option is allowed only if there are up to six items."

Calculated Status: Check this box to determine this Task Group’s Status by calculation, or leave it unchecked to have the mobile application user input its Status. Refer to the appropriate section below for additional information.
Status Selection by Mobile Application User Input
This method of determining a Task Group’s status relies on the input of the mobile application user working the Procedure.
So long as the "Calculated Status" box is not checked, the Task Group is already set for mobile application user input, though you can choose a Default Value at this time, if you wish.

Default Value: Choose the Default Value for Status in one of the three following manners.
Note: Refer to Expression Wizards for details regarding the options available by clicking the chevron (
) button.
Using a Status List:

Drag a Status List Item from an open Status List to the "Status List" field (not the "Default Value" field).
Using the Calculation Expression Editor:
Tip: This option uses a calculation to select a default value for the mobile application user to accept or change, whereas "Calculated Status" determines the value.

Click the chevron button (
) and select "Expression Editor.

Click the ellipsis (
) button to enter the Expression Editor to define an expression to provide this value.

Using the Default Value Selector Wizard:

Click the chevron button (
) and select "Default Value Selector." The "Default Value" field will present a drop-down
list.

Choose a Status from the choices provided by the drop-down list. Refer to Value Selector - Lists for more details.
When the mobile application user encounters a Task Group configured with a "Default Value" option, the Procedure will automatically display the Default Value for the mobile application user’s approval or modification.
Note: If "Default Value" is left blank, the mobile application user must enter the Status value manually.

Status Selection by Calculation
This method of determining a Task Group’s status relies on the results of calculations using variables such as: day of week; value of another Task; Status of another Task Group; etc.
With the box marked "Calculation Status" checked, the "Default Value" field changes to "Calculation Expression." To set the expression, either:

Click the chevron "drop-down" button (
) and select "Expression Editor."

Click the ellipsis (
) button.
