Server Attachments

Use Server Attachments to view additional information attached as a document for tasks within procedures. The Server Attachments always appear at the top in the File Attachments screen. Server attachments are usually reference materials in the form of PDF documents, spreadsheets, and graphics to help in rounds or surveillances. The document can be viewed only if the appropriate app is installed on the mobile device.

Note: We recommend server attachments of file size no larger than 200 MB for optimal performance.

Supported File Types

Supported file types for attached documents include:

  • Text Document (TXT)

  • Microsoft Word Document (DOC and DOCX)

  • Microsoft Excel Worksheet (XLS and XLSX)

  • Portable Document Format (PDF)

  • Bitmap Image (BMP)

  • Graphics Interchange Format Image (GIF)

  • JPEG Image (JPG)

Deletion Criteria

Attached documents are deleted during data transfer only if the amount of total free memory of the mobile device is less than what is configured for the Device - Minimum Free Space (%) For Docs in the System Settings module of the AVEVA Mobile Operator web application, and only to the extent necessary to reach the specified threshold. Attached documents associated with procedures that are no longer present on the mobile device are known as orphaned attached documents.

Attached documents are deleted by file size from largest to smallest in the following order:

  1. Orphaned attached documents from bases other than the current

  2. Attached documents from bases other than the current

  3. Orphaned attached documents from the current base

Documents Location

The attached documents are saved in the internal memory of the mobile device. Use Apple iTunes to access the attached documents. For more information on transferring files from your iOS device to your computer, refer to the User Manual of the iOS device.
