Log in to the web application

Depending on the authentication mode, you can either use a local user or Active Directory credentials to log into the application.

Before You Begin

• You must have your login credentials.

• You must have performed installation steps provided in the AVEVA Mobile Operator Installation section of the the Installation Guide.

Steps:

1. In the User name box, enter your user name.

2. In the Password box, enter the password.

3. Select the Sign In button.

   The AVEVA Mobile Operator page appears.

Log in Using the Active Directory Credentials:

An Active Directory user can now use the Active Directory credentials to log in to web application that automatically registers them to the database. However, for automatically registering the user, it is required that the Active Directory user belongs to an existing Active Directory group in the Management Center. For more information, see the AVEVA Management Center User's Guide.

Note: An Active Directory user will not be allowed to log in to the web application with a local password.The Active Directory user can, however, use the Windows Integrated button to login to the web application. You can hide the Windows Integrated Login and to know about instructions, see the topic 'Hiding the Windows Integrated Login' in the AVEVA Mobile Operator Installation Guide.

4. Access the web application and select the Windows Integrated login button.

   A prompt appears, asking you to provide the User Name and Password.

5. Enter your Active Directory credentials in the User name and Password box.

   The AVEVA Mobile Operator screen appears. The next time when you access the web application by selecting the Windows Integrated button, you will be able to log in to the application without being prompted to provide the credentials

Log in Using the Azure Active Directory Credentials:

You can use the Azure Active Directory credentials to log in to the web application.

6. Access the web application.

   The AVEVA Identity Manager screen appears, asking you to provide the User Name and Password.

7. Enter the Azure Active Directory credentials to log in and select Next.

8. In the Enter Password screen, you can authenticate a user via a password or certificate:

   • To authenticate a user by password, type the Password.

   • To authenticate a user via certificate, select Use a certificate or smart card, choose appropriate certificate from the Choose certificate dialog, and click Select.

9. Click Sign-in.

   The user is authenticated, and the AVEVA Mobile Operator page appears.

Note: The Windows Integrated login is not supported for Azure Active Directory.
