General tab

This section provides for entering the Name of the Server which will be displayed to users who are assigning data points to Trends in Trend Configuration. This section also provides configuration and connection information for system administrators.

General

• Name

• Cannot be blank

• Limited to 100 characters

• Must be unique

Description

• Can be blank (not recommended)

• Limited to 255 characters

• Used as a Tool-tip within the External Servers module

Service Options

• Suspend data transfers to and from this server – Used to suspend data transfers from this server, however the server is still available for use in Trend Configuration→data points

• Read cycle time – Numeric entry box where the administrator configures the interval (in minutes) between refreshes of data from this server.

  • Range is between 1 and 1440 minutes (24 hours)

  • Defaults to 5 minutes

Status

• Last Connected – Date and time of the last successful connection to this server.

• Last Failure Occurred – Date and time of the last failure occurred on this server, if any.

• Last Error Received – Read only error messaging that may be used to help troubleshoot any connection or configuration problems.
