Create or edit Virtual Log entries

Note: Access to Virtual Log functions is governed by the "Modify Virtual Log," "Add Virtual Log," and "Delete Virtual Log" permissions granted in the Administration application.

To create a new Virtual Log entry, select the "New Virtual Log" entry from the File menu.

To edit an existing Virtual Log entry, first locate it with a Virtual Log Report, and then double-click the entry in the results grid.
In either case, the following window will appear.

After completing the following three fields, the Virtual Log can be added.

Base: Use the drop-down selector to choose the Base containing the Asset that the Virtual Log entry concerns. Click on the
button presented to the right of the Base listing, then left-click on the desired
selection.

Asset: Select the Asset for the Virtual Log entry from the provided list.

Click on the ellipsis button (
) next to the Asset field to display a list of Asset categories.

Click on a listed Asset to select it, or click on the plus sign (
) next to a listing to expand a category, and then click on an Asset listed under
that category to select it.

Click OK once the proper Asset is selected, and the Virtual Log will be added.

Log Entry: Click within the provided text box, then type the desired Log Entry using the keyboard.

Click OK when finished to save the Virtual Log Entry to the database.
