Refer to the following table for the key configurable properties of Planning state transition item.

Behavior properties

Property

Description

Valid values

ApplyToHigherLevelPlans

Determines whether the current value for this state transition applies to higher level plans.

When True, this property enables the current state value to be pushed up to higher-level plans in the plant hierarchy. This property appears only when the Trigger type is PlanHadMovementsMatched or PlanHadMovementsUnmatched.

True, False

Source States

Enables you to select the source Planning states, as defined in the Record State Manager under the Planning configuration item.

Click Browse (...) to open the Select Source States dialog box. Select the valid workflow transition, as defined in the Record State Manager under the Planning configuration item.

Important: The StateTransitionAllowed property on the workflow transition must be set to Always for the state to be enabled.

Studio Select Source States lookup window showing the list of workflow transition state items to select from.

Any defined Planning state

Target State

Enables you to select a target Planning state, as defined in the Record State Manager under the Planning configuration item.

Click Browse (...) to open the Select Target States dialog box. Select a workflow transition as defined in the Record State Manager under the Planning configuration item.

Important: The StateTransitionAllowed property on the workflow transition must be set to Always for the state to be enabled.

Studio Select Target State lookup window showing the list of workflow transition state items to select from for the target state.

Any defined Planning state

Trigger

Specifies the action that triggers the transition from the source state to the destination state.

Options:

  • PeriodEnded - The transition triggers when a period ends.

  • InventoryFinalized - The completion of the Inventory finalization process triggers associated Planning records to change status.

  • PlanHadMovementMatched - If an Inventory movement meets matching criteria to fulfill Planning requirements, this triggers the Planning state to transition. The trigger occurs only the first time the plan is matched.

  • PlanHadMovementUnmatched - If an Inventory movement no longer meets matching criteria to fulfill Planning requirements, this triggers the Planning state to transition. The trigger occurs only when the number of movements matching the plan is zero (0).

If the Planning requirements are met and therefore the record is matched, you can unmatch the Planning record (and transition its state) by editing the details of the Inventory movement and perform a reprocessing action on the data.

When using triggers to configure Planning states to transition to another state, you set the StateTransitionAllowed property on the Planning state to Automatic or Both.

Notes:

  • AVEVA™ Production Management pauses the handling of state transitions for PeriodEnded and InventoryFinalized trigger types during reprocessing until the reprocessing operation is complete. After reprocessing, AVEVA™ Production Management continues to process the queued state transitions.

  • Automatic planning state transitions do not trigger recipe downloads.
