To assign an originator ID to a user

You assign originator IDs to users. When a user initiates a work order request, AVEVA™ Production Management automatically populates the originator field of the request with the originator ID of the person who is currently logged on.

  1. Under the System Configuration folder, expand the Users folder.

Studio project hierarchy view showing the expanded Users configuration item with three users under System Configuration.

  2. Click the user that you require. The Properties pane appears for the user.

  3. In the ExternalNumber property, type the unique identifier that you want for the user. This can be any string value.

Note: The MaximumEditLength property of the originator field specifies the maximum length of the originator ID, ExternalNumber property. The DataType property of the originator field specifies the data type of the originator ID. For example, if the DataType property of the originator field is String, then the originator ID can include text and/or numbers.

  4. On the Project menu, click Save.
