A specification limit defines the lower and upper limits of an acceptable range for data. A specification limit defines a single range.
Specification limits are used in Quality charting.
You can set specification limits source on a material quality field to derive its limits from a specification item.
Note: The data type of the Material Quality reporting point field should be Numeric, when you use the SpecificationLimitsSource or ThresholdSource property.
How it looks in the data grid
A symbol appears in data cells in the Production Analyst results grid to inform operators when data is of out of specification limits.

To add a specification limit
You can add only one specification limit item to a material field specification.
-
Right-click the relevant material field specification and select Add SpecificationLimits. A new Specification Limits item appears.

-
Rename the item with a meaningful name.
-
Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Material Quality specification limit properties.
