System requirements for AVEVA Production Management Server

This section describes the system requirements for a Server.

Prerequisite software requirements

AVEVA Production Management requires that you install this additional software on the server:

• Microsoft .NET 8.0 SDK

• Microsoft ASP.NET Core 8.0

• Microsoft .NET 8.0 Desktop Runtime

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or later

• Microsoft Edge (64-bit)

• PI AF Client 3.1.0

• Erlang OTP and RabbitMQ

  The supported Erlang version depends on the RabbitMQ version you use. For details about the Erlang version that works with your RabbitMQ version, refer to Erlang Version Requirements.

• Microsoft PowerShell 7.4.10 or later

  Note: Make sure all prerequisite software uses the latest security updates.

Additional software requirement

• AVEVA Platform Common Services (PCS) 7.0 or 8.1.5

  The installer doesn't check for PCS since you can install this together with AVEVA Production Management or on a separate server. This is required if you plan to use the CONNECT integration feature. For more information on CONNECT integration, refer to AVEVA Production Management CONNECT integration.

  PCS uses Microsoft Edge WebView2 and AVEVA has not disabled Microsoft Defender SmartScreen in this release. The Microsoft Defender SmartScreen feature collects and transmits user information to Microsoft, as detailed in Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and Microsoft Edge Privacy Whitepaper.

  For additional details, refer to Microsoft documentation on Data and Privacy in WebView2. Instructions for disabling this feature are available in the Microsoft support documentation.

  Note: This information also applies to the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime software required for the AVEVA Production Management desktop client.

Server is supported on the following operating systems:

• Windows Server 2025 (64-bit)

• Windows Server 2022 (64-bit)

• Windows Server 2019 (64-bit)

Supported database for AVEVA Production Management

• Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Standard or Enterprise Edition (64-bit) with latest service packs

• Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Standard or Enterprise Edition (64-bit) with latest service packs

• Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Standard or Enterprise Edition (64-bit) with latest service packs

Notes about SQL Server

• Do not use Developer editions or Express editions of Microsoft SQL Server for a project.

• Standard and Enterprise editions of the SQL Server require a server operating system.

• Client Access Licenses (CALs). Microsoft SQL Server has a variety of licensing models, so choose the relevant model for your requirements.

Hardware requirements

The minimum hardware recommendation for the Server is:

• 12 Core Intel Xeon processor

• 64 GB RAM

You can increase or improve your hardware specifications in relation to your project size and performance expectations.

Virtual environment

Server is supported on the VMWare or Hyper-V virtual platforms.
