Add and configure an email notification

Important: AVEVA™ Production Management introduces a new Notification system, but retains the ability to define external notifications. Future development will phase out the old notification system. We suggest you use the newer and more robust Notification system. See Add and configure Client Notification command.
When you add an email notification to a user, that user receives an email message when any of the notification rules in the project transition to True for longer than the minimum active time.
You can choose a time period to limit the notifications. For example, you can send notifications that occur only within Shift A. You can specify whether to send the message based on whether the notification condition occurs inside or outside the selected time period.
Before you add an email notification, check that you have configured the mail server.
To add an email notification

Under the System configuration folder, expand the Users folder.

Right-click a user, and click Add Email Delivery Method. A new EmailDeliveryMethod item appears.
