In addition to the backup or restore archiving utility, you can import or export your AVEVA™ Production Management configuration database in xml format.
Note: Studio must be connected to a project for an import or export to occur. If you want the permissions that are already configured for the project, copy the Authstore.xml backup file from export operation to C:\ProgramData\Citect\Ampla\Projects\<ProjectName> and restart the service.
Import projects in XML
A project backup can be made at any time and the server continues to run without interruption, however, to restore a project, the server is stopped, and Studiois disconnected during the restoration process. After restoration, the server restarts, and Studio clients are reconnected automatically. The restored project downloads and displays on the clients appropriately.
In the Project Restore confirmation dialog box, the field check box is selected by default. This means that the current persisted runtime data values are retained. If you clear this check box, the current values for persisted runtime data are lost, because they are replaced with the persisted runtime data values that were valid at the time the backup took place. For more information, see About persisted runtime values.
Note: Since a restore can be made from any instance of Studio connected to Server, it is possible to replace the currently running project with another project even while other clients or Studio is connected. These clients and other instances of Studio are summarily disconnected from the current project, and then reconnected when the restored project is loaded.
