When does AVEVA Production Management create an Inventory record?

AVEVA™ Production Management can create Inventory records automatically, and authorized users can create some Inventory records manually.

Automatic Inventory records

A material movement item defines the expression that determines when the material movement that corresponds occurs. AVEVA™ Production Management automatically creates an Inventory record when the result of the expression changes from false to true.

Manual Inventory records

Additionally, Inventory provides facilities to add Inventory records manually, which gives you greater control to manage inventory. Users with appropriate permissions can do the following:

• Add balance adjustment records manually to adjust the material balances of work centers.

• Add material movement records manually.

• Add survey results through web services. AVEVA™ Production Management uses the survey result to automatically calculate the adjustment so that the balance of the lot, lot group, or mixed equipment is equal to the balance of the survey result.
