Knowledge records Knowledge data with Knowledge reporting points. You can add Knowledge reporting points to appropriate locations on the plant hierarchy and product hierarchy to specify where Knowledge can record data.
A Knowledge reporting point automatically includes the following subfolders of configurable elements:
-
Capture conditions specify what happens to initiate data capture.
-
Fields specify what data AVEVA™ Production Management can capture.
-
Library specifies links to selected documents, and it includes a diary that AVEVA™ Production Management uses to display Knowledge records.

Plan where to locate Knowledge reporting points
You can place Knowledge reporting points on the plant hierarchy and product hierarchy. When deciding where to place Knowledge reporting points, consider that they can do the following:
-
Capture Knowledge records that authorized staff in the area manually add.
-
Make documents available to view by authorized staff in the area.
If you want staff in a particular area to be able to record their observations, suggestions, ideas, interpretations, and insights, add a Knowledge reporting point to the area.
Also, add a Knowledge reporting point to an area if staff are required to consult instructional or explanatory material online such as manuals, procedures, schematics, and pictures of equipment.
