Configure the mail server

On the mail server item, you can configure the connection properties for the mail server and configure email notifications. AVEVA™ Production Management can send out email notifications in response to certain configured events.
Guidelines
The mail server item automatically appears beneath the System Configuration folder. You must stop the mail server item before you can edit its properties.
Stop the mail server

In Studio, expand the System Configuration folder, then right-click the Mail Server and click Stop.

Configure SMTP mail server properties
Refer to the following table for the key configurable properties of SMTP mail server.

SmtpServerName |
The name of the SMTP server that sends emails for AVEVA™ Production Management. This depends on your network configuration. You can either enter the full name of the mail server on your network, or you can enter localhost. If you enter localhost, AVEVA™ Production Management passes emails to the IIS Server, and the IIS Server forwards them to the mail server in your network. If you pass emails through the IIS Server, Enable routing on your IIS Server.
