In AVEVA Production Management, it is possible to configure notifications that are sent to the Notifications panel and to mobile devices.
Incoming notifications are indicated by a red circle on the Notifications icon in the toolbar.
Contextualized notifications
The contextualized notifications in AVEVA Production Management are related to AVEVA Production Management data. These notifications are associated with a module and view. They are contextualized with hyperlinks to assist with navigation to the relevant areas and can be optionally filtered to further refine data results.
Only users with the appropriate permissions to view the context link will receive these notifications.
Broadcast notifications
Broadcast messages do not have a contextualized link. They are more informative and received by all users. Custom notifications can also be sent to the AVEVA Production Management client to inform users of pending events that affect the system, such as:
The historian is down for maintenance
Notification messages
Notification messages have a subject, a body of text, an expiration date, and a priority (low, normal, high).
Notification of normal priority do not have a symbol.

Contextualized views
Contextualized notifications will navigate you to a particular view of the data. This provides context and directs you to the project area with data that needs attention.

If a notification has a linked view, when you hover over the notification subject, an arrow appears and the subject will appear underlined. Notifications that have no context link will be available to all users.
Note: Access to the linked view depends on permissions to view that area of the project hierarchy. Users will only receive notifications with a context if they have the associated view permissions for the specified location.

Sorting
You can sort notifications in the Notification panel by Priority or Created Time. When sorted by Priority the order is highest to lowest. When sorted by Time, the order is newest creation time to oldest creation time.
Expiry
All notification has a configured expiration date that is not visible to users. When the expiry date is reached, the notification will no longer display in the Notifications panel.
