Quality Moving Forward (QMF) brings quality data forward on an individual measurement level instead of at the record level. Quality information points to existing quality data so that quality data is not duplicated.
How does QMF work?
When quality data is moved forward, AVEVA Production Management checks for local quality values at the destination, and at the source. If there is no local quality data, and quality moving forward is enabled, AVEVA Production Management uses the link back to existing quality data to provide the quality value. Only fields that do not have local quality in the destination are moved forward.
When QMF is enabled, you can insert or update local quality data at any point, and the quality is moved forward from that point onwards. You can move quality forward for a Material Quality reporting point, or a Calculated Quality reporting point.
Note Local quality is quality recorded at the selected location/destination; for example, quality recorded at the destination equipment. Quality moved forward is quality recorded in a different location, then linked to and used at the selected location/destination; for example, quality recorded in the source equipment and used at the destination equipment.

Important: The destination field name must be the same as the source field name for QMF to work correctly.
Equipment
When an equipment item is configured to use QMF, the associated quality is moved forward through the destination equipment, and you can specify the preferred quality to move forward.
Fields
When a field added to a Material Quality reporting point is configured to use QMF, the associated quality is moved forward through the destination fields.
