Download and install Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is a prerequisite for ActiveMQ. You can obtain the latest release of JRE from the Oracle website.

To download and install Java SE Development Kit

1. Locate the Windows 64-bit version of JRE with .exe extension and download the install file.

2. Run the installation and take note of the install directory location. You will need this directory path later.
