Functions in the PI variable configuration window

This table describes how to use the different functions in the PI variable configuration window, accessed through the Configuration Variables option.

Sort the list |
Click the heading of the column that you want to sort by. A triangle in the column heading indicates whether the sorting is in ascending or descending order. |

Group variables |
Drag the column by its heading to the Grouping pane, which is the pane above the list. You can drag multiple columns to the Grouping pane and rearrange their positions in the Grouping pane. |

Ungroup variables |
Drag the group from the Grouping pane, which is the pane above the list. |
|
Filter the list item by name. |
Type the PI points tag in the By Name text field in the Filter area. |
|
Filter the list by data type |
Select the data type in the By Data Type list. |

Add variables into the project |
Select the check box of each variable that you want to add, and then click OK. |
|
Delete variables from the project |
Clear the check box of each variable that you want to delete, and then click OK. |
|
View existing project variables |
Select the Review tab. |
