The goal is to build a reproduction of the architecture that represents your plant topography. For more information, see About the plant hierarchy.

The following procedure adds the Enterprise folder as the root of the plant hierarchy, although you can also use a Site Folder.

Add folders to plant hierarchy

Follow these guidelines about adding folders and work centers to your plant hierarchy:

  • You can add only one Enterprise folder to the plant hierarchy, and you can add it to only the project node. Adding the Enterprise folder is optional. You can have the Enterprise folder or a Site folder as the root of the plant hierarchy.

  • You can add any number of Site folders to the Enterprise folder. Alternatively, instead of adding the Enterprise folder, you can add any number of Site folders to the project node.

  • You can add any number of Area folders and any number and combination of work centers to Site folders and Area folders.

  1. In Project Explorer, right-click the Project node, point to Add Item, point to Folders, and then click Enterprise Folder. An Enterprise Folder appears.

        7

        Add reporting point sub-items

Add and configure the different types of sub-items that reside under each reporting point, such as:

        • Actions

        • Business rules

        • Fields

        • Conditions
