A Quality event is a request for a Calculated Quality or Material Quality operation to occur. AVEVA Production Management stores all original quality requests, which are later processed into Quality records. You can view Quality events in the Quality Events view before processing the requests. After processing, the processed records appear in the Quality Results view.
In a similar way to how Inventory works, the purpose is to separate input data from results data. The input data is stored separately from the results data. This enables corrections and reprocessing of input data in order to achieve a different set of results data.
Quality Event records will be introduced for all Inventory-related quality data that is not system generated to achieve the separation between input and result data. Quality Events apply to these modules:
-
Note: Process Quality data continues to be handled in the traditional way. It is not an Inventory-related type of quality data.
Support for Record Change Event
Quality Events support the Record Changed Event functionality in the following items:
-
Code items - Record Changed Events for Code items
-
Service Bus - Add and configure a Record Changed Event
-
Webhooks - Using Webhooks
Note: RCE support does not apply for Material movements, Material Quality reporting points, and Calculated Quality reporting points.
Types of Quality events
There are two types of Quality events.
|
Material Quality |
Material events represent regular material quality measurements and are applied against a lot (based on one of the existing matching criteria). You can edit the original event record without having any impact on the result data. The values arrive as event records, and when reprocessing is performed, the event will be turned into a result record. |
|
Quality Survey |
When a Quality Survey is applied to a lot group, it indicates that its calculated quality value should be set to the value recorded at the time of the survey. Subsequent calculated quality values should start their calculations from this survey value, instead of the previously-calculated value. A result record for the survey becomes visible in the Quality views, so that it is obvious why calculated quality has changed from the previous system-generated record. |
Quality Events View
There is a dedicated view in the client for Quality Events to display Material Quality events before processing to compare the Material Quality data before processing and after processing. However, it is no longer possible to see Process Quality and Material Quality in the same views together.
Note: Process Quality data continues to be handled in the traditional way. It is excluded from Quality Events views and Quality Reprocessing.
Quality Reprocessing
Quality Reprocessing is done in parallel to Inventory Reprocessing. It works in a similar way. You can use the Corrections panel in Production Analyst to make corrections and edits to Quality events and then perform a reprocessing. Similar to Inventory Reprocessing, you can specify a Finalization point to commit Quality data.
