AVEVA™ Production Management

Add and configure a Planning business rule

  • Last UpdatedMar 17, 2025
  • 1 minute read

A business rule changes the display color of a row, when data meets defined business logic.

If data in AVEVA™ Production Management matches more than one of the business rules, the color of the highest priority business rule highlights the data. When the first business rule is fixed, the color of the next business rule highlights the data and so on.

Tip: Use the DisplayOrder property to specify priority, with lowest DisplayOrder having highest priority. We do not recommend that business rules for a given reporting point have the same DisplayOrder value.

To add a business rule

You can add one or more business rules to a Planning reporting point.

  1. Right-click the relevant Planning reporting point and select Add Business Rule. A new business rule appears.

Studio project hierarchy view showing an expanded Planning Reporting Point with a list of business rules items.

  2. Rename the item with a meaningful name.

  3. Repeat until you have the number of business rules you require.

  4. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Planning business rule properties.
