How to set up Metrics

These are the basic steps for setting up Metrics.

Specify the IIS Server

If the IIS Server was not set up properly during installation, specify the IIS properties.

Define formulas

You can create stand-alone formulas to supply the underlying logic to calculate KPIs.

Prepare for Metrics

Before you add a Metrics reporting point, check that you have:

  • (Optional) Defined period definitions. With period definitions, you can specify repeatable lengths of time in the plant process; for example, a day or a shift.

  • (Optional) Defined time events. With time events, you can base events on calendar dates and times; for example, once every week.

Define a Metrics reporting point

You can specify how AVEVA™ Production Management captures Metrics data by defining the properties of reporting points.

Define when to capture Metrics data

Metrics reporting points capture Metrics data based on the selected period.

Define what information to capture

When you add a KPI and associate that KPI with a formula, the KPI is automatically populated with resolver fields.
