About the Expression Editor

You can the Expression Editor to create expressions and add dependencies or Subscription events for reporting points. Use the Expression toolbar to insert C# operators and other special characters into the expression that you build in the Expression edit box. The Expression Editor inserts characters at the current location in the Expression Edit box.

Note: There are two buttons to make it easier to insert straight double quotation marks (") and single quotation marks (') when you work in some languages, such as the Chinese character set. By default, some character sets insert quotation marks at an angle instead of straight, which are not valid syntax. In these cases, use the toolbar buttons to insert straight quotation marks — instead of the keyboard.
