Basic steps for setting up legacy notifications

Prepare for notifications

Before you set up notifications, do the following:

• Verify that you have configured users. See, About Users

• If using email notifications, configure the mail server. See, Configure the mail server

Add a notification rule

You can specify when AVEVA™ Production Management generates notifications by adding a notification rule.

Define when to generate a notification

AVEVA™ Production Management use conditions to monitor when to generate a notification.

Define what action to take

Specify the delivery type for a user.

Define notification delivery types

Based on whether the condition is currently True or False, AVEVA™ Production Management determines what action to take.

Define which notifications a user receives

You can give a user permissions to notification rules to specify that a user can receive certain notifications.
