About Material Quality field specifications

A material field specification enables you to globally specify the characteristics of materials in your process.

Material field specifications work with material quality reporting points. Add fields with matching names under the material quality reporting point to configure the reporting fields to draw their limits from the material field specifications. Set the ThresholdSource property on the reporting point fields to Material.

Example

If you have a material named Coal, you could add material field specification items that represent the characteristics of coal, such as Ash, Density, or Grade. For each of material field specifications, you can add a sub-item to specify the conditions on that item: ThresholdValue, ThresholdRange, or Specification Limit.
