Add and configure work unit properties

A work cell represents a type of work unit that is used in continuous or batch production. For more information on work units, see About work units.

Note: Units inherit the values of these properties from their parent work centers: AllowedMaterials, LotBehavior, LotGroupRequired. However, you can override the values with local values for the work unit.

You can add a work unit to a Process Cell work center or Production Unit work center in the plant hierarchy.

Add a work unit

  1. In Project Explorer, right-click a Process Cell work center or Production Unit work center, point to Add Item, point to Work Units, and then click Unit. A new work unit appears.

  2. Rename the work unit with a meaningful name.

  3. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Work unit properties.
