This page lists functional changes to Material Quality that were implemented in AVEVA Production Management 7.1.
Reprocessing
Quality events will now be reprocessed along with Movement events to generate the result data that is now displayed in the Material Quality View. The result data is read-only. Any changes should be applied by either updating the existing Quality event or inserting a new one.
Mapping to Finalized Quality Records
If a Quality record is in the finalized data set and has no non-zero balance lot mapped, it can no longer be mapped to. Instead, you must create a new Quality event in the unfinalized data set. The same functionality is available for Quality events, which will allow users to duplicate the finalized Quality event to create a new Quality record in the unfinalized dataset.
Quality Moving Forward for finalized lots
If at the time of finalization, a lot has a non-zero balance with an associated quality sample, if a movement out of that lot occurred after finalization, then the QMF feature would move the quality forward to the destination lot.
Whereas, if the lot has a zero balance at the time of finalization and had an associated quality sample, if a movement occurred into the lot after finalization, it would not be associated to the existing Quality record. Subsequent movement out of the lot will not have an associated quality to move forward to the destination.
You can no longer localize Quality Moving Forward
Previously, end users could overwrite the quality result data to be moved forward with a value of their choosing, which was known as localizing.
In the new version of AVEVA™ Production Management, a new Quality event will be inserted containing the new Quality values that the end user wants to apply Quality Moving Forward at the location where they would want these values to apply from instead of updating the result data.
Calculated Quality for zero and negative balance lot groups
When a movement causes a lot group balance to fall to or below zero, AVEVA™ Production Management uses the last known Calculated Quality value. If the balance continues to be negative, no data points are shown on the graph and you will see no values for the Calculated Quality in the grid in the over time view.
If the lot group balance becomes positive again, the calculation ignores any previous Calculated Quality values for the lot group. Only the current quantity and quality values are used and a new data point will display on the chart.
Changes to Calculated Quality in Balance by Lot Group Over Time view
Previously, if a lot moved into a lot group without an associated material quality record, you would see no Calculated Quality values in the Balance by Lot Group Over Time view for that movement. Now, you will see the previous Calculated Quality values.
