  3. Give the effect a meaningful name. This name appears as an option for users to select as the cause of Downtime or Energy events.

How it looks to the user

After the operator specifies a cause location for the event, AVEVA™ Production Management populates the Cause selection list with allowed cause codes for this location.

After the operator specifies a cause for the event, AVEVA™ Production Management populates the Classification selection list with allowed classifications for this location and cause code.

Finally, after selecting the classification, AVEVA™ Production Management populates the Effect list with allowed effects for this classification, cause code, and classification.

  4. Expand the Display Name property to assign the value for the Display Name in a supported language. The language that displays in client is determined by the Windows regional setting.

  5. Next to EffectID, assign a unique identifier for this effect.

  6. In the Properties pane, next to the Matrix Type property, specify whether this effect applies to Downtime events or Energy events.

    • AVEVA™ Production Management automatically assigns a unique CauseCodeID to the item. You can change this number if required; however, there cannot be duplicates in the project.

    • If duplicate CauseCodeIDs are defined, AVEVA™ Production Management raises a validation error when the project is validated.
