About Planning

Planning bridges the gap between the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and the plant floor. Planning provides an immediate online visualization tool to achieve more efficient use of the available plant, equipment, and resources.

This includes activities such as:

• Schedule production orders

• Schedule planned maintenance activities

• Manage standby periods

• Compare actual events against scheduled events

When does AVEVA Production Management produce a Planning record

Planning can produce a Planning record in these situations:

• AVEVA Production Management can receive records from the business planning and logistics system; for example, an Enterprise Resource Planning system.

• An operator adds a planning record manually. See Add Planning records in the Results grid.
