Naming convention for SQL backup files

We recommend that you use a naming convention for your backup that includes:

  • Name of database

  • Date created

  • AVEVA Production Management version of database

Back up the SQL data repository

  1. Open SQL Server Enterprise Manager. Expand the Databases directory, and locate your project data repository.

  2. Right-click the database, point to All Tasks, then click Backup Database.

  3. Under Destination, delete the location of your nightly backup and replace with the upgrade backup location.

  4. Click Add to create a new destination location. The Select Backup Destination dialog box appears.

  5. Type the location and name of the SQL backup file to create.
