How to set up work orders

You can use Maintenance to set up a maintenance request system through the use of work order requests that appear in Production Analyst. When this is set up correctly, a Work Order request button appears on the Downtime details form.
Steps for setting up work orders

Create the external work order table Verify that the external work order table is correctly set up so that you can connect Maintenance to it.

Connect to the external work order table Use OLE DB connectors to connect AVEVA™ Production Management to the external database. |

Map fields to the external work order table AVEVA™ Production Management uses the work order table fields to read from and insert data into the external work order table fields. |

Associate equipment with locations Specify the equipment that is relevant to the locations in the plant hierarchy. |

Specify an identifier for the creator of a work order request Specify the originator ID to identify the creator of a work order request. |
Result
The form appears only to users who have this feature enabled through the ExternalNumber property of their user item in Studio. The ExternalNumber property specifies the originator ID that identifies the creator of a work order request.
