Assign an equipment ID to a location

The equipment ID is the unique identifier for equipment. Equipment IDs are associated with locations, which are folders in the plant hierarchy.AVEVA™ Production Management automatically uses the equipment ID of the location where the work order request is initiated. If the location does not have an equipment ID associated with it, AVEVA™ Production Management checks each subsequent parent folder and uses the first equipment ID it finds.

To assign an equipment ID to a location

You can assign an equipment ID to a location, equipment folder in the plant hierarchy. automatically populates the equipment ID field of a work order request with the equipment ID of the location where the work order request is created. If you do not assign an equipment ID to the folder, AVEVA™ Production Management checks each subsequent parent folder and uses the first equipment ID it finds.

1. In the plant hierarchy, select a location where a work order request can originate.

   

2. In the EquipmentID property, type a unique identifier.

3. On the Project menu, click Save.
