Quality Moving Forward (QMF) Scenarios

This topic provides some example scenarios that show what happens when quality is moved forward —based on whether the priority quality is Material quality or Weighted Average quality.
Moving Quality Forward in a Selective Work Center
In this scenario, the lot behavior type is Selective.
Scenario: Quality Moving Forward from Lot to Lot
LOT2 is moved from the source equipment to the destination equipment. The quality values are moved forward from the source to the destination. When changes are made to the quality in LOT2 in work center 1 (the source), then the quality for LOT3 in work center 2 (the destination) is also updated.
Moving Quality Forward in a Work Center with Weighted Average lot behavior
In these scenarios, the lot behavior type is Weighted Average.
The source lot group has a Weighted Average Quality(WAQ) and each lot within that lot group has a material quality. When the quality is moved forward to the destination, you can configure the type of source quality that you want to move forward.
Note When the selected type of quality does not exist at the source, AVEVA Production Management uses the second quality option. For example, if you select WAQ to use in the source, and the source does not have a WAQ, then Material Quality is moved forward.
Material Quality
Scenario: Quality Moving Forward from Lot Group to Lot (Material Quality)
Material Quality priority: When material is moved from Lot group 1, the quantity is moved from all lots in the lot group to LOT4. Material Quality of LOT1 is selected to move forward to LOT4. When changes are made to the quality in LOT1, then the quality for LOT4 and the WAQ for lot group 2 are also updated.
Weighted Average Quality
Scenario: Quality Moving Forward from Lot Group to Lot (Weighted Average)
Weighted Average Quality priority: When material is moved from Lot group 1, the quantity is moved from all lots in the lot group, but WAQ is selected to move forward to LOT6. When changes are made to the lots in lot group 1, the WAQ for lot group1 is adjusted. When the WAQ changes, then the quality for LOT6 and the WAQ for lot group 2 are also updated.
