Important: AVEVA™ Production Management introduces a new Notification system, but retains the ability to define external notifications. Future development will phase out the old notification system. We suggest you use the newer and more robust Notification system. See Add and configure Client Notification command.
A notification rule contains the definitions to generate and send notifications.
You can add notification rules anywhere in the project hierarchy. The usual practice is to place the notification rules at different levels in the plant hierarchy to associate notification rules with reporting points.
Notification types
You can define one or more delivery methods for a user.

Elements
A notification rule has these subfolders:
-
Conditions
-
Actions
Notification conditions contain an expression that defines when to issue a notification and actions define the details of the messages to send.
To add a notification rule
You can add as many notification rules as you require to a project.
-
In Studio, right-click a folder in the plant hierarchy and point to Add Item, then point to Notification Items, then click Notification Rule. A new Notification rule appears.
-
Rename the rule with a meaningful name.
-
Configure notification rule properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Notification rule properties.
