Upgrade scenarios

There are three different upgrade procedures scenarios:

• Restore from the Backup/Restore feature

• Import from the Export/Import feature

• In-place software upgrade

The components that upgrade depend on the procedure you use. The next section explains components that are possible to upgrade.

Important: It is possible to do an in-place software upgrade by uninstalling the previous version of AVEVA Production Management application and installing the new version of AVEVA Production Management over an existing project and database; however, we do not recommend using this procedure on a live production site.
