Important: Reprocessing is currently available for Inventory events and Quality events.
Reprocessing is about having the ability to make changes or corrections to your Inventory or Quality data, and to process late-arriving data and requests to update the Inventory database. AVEVA Production Management updates the data by processing changes that are made to movement events, quality data, or planning data with a new version of the data that considers all recent changes.
Note Inventory reprocessing accepts data from work units as well as work centers.
The following items can be inputs to reprocessing:
-
Movement events
-
Material Quality events
-
Calculated Quality events
-
Lot records
-
Lot Group records
-
Planning records and Material Requirement records
Reprocessing workflow
There are several reasons to make a correction or change to a movement event. You can achieve this through the reprocessing workflow.
-
Make changes to movement events, quality data, or planning data.
-
Reprocess all unfinalized movement events. Other Inventory records that are impacted by these changes are also updated.
-
Finalize all unfinalized movement events.

Finalized data
One of the important concepts of Reprocessing is the concept of finalization. There is a finalization point in the data, which is a date and time that means that up to this point in time, all Inventory movement records in the database are 'finalized' or locked-in. After they are finalized, records cannot be updated or changed again by reprocessing.
Decide what strategy is good for your business regarding the finalization of data. For more information on this topic, see Finalizing data.
