In the event that an upgrade does not go successfully, have a rollback plan in place.
Consider the following:
-
A rollback would occur only after migration of an upgraded project to the production environment.
-
Test your rollback plan in the test environment.
-
Define the set of circumstances that would initiate a rollback.
A rollback procedure involves:
-
Removing the new AVEVA Production Management version and restoring the old version.
-
Restoring the original AVEVA Production Management backup taken before the upgrade process.
-
Restoring the data repository that was taken immediately prior to building the new production environment.
-
Verifying that the rollback procedure is successful.
