Add and configure a PI data source

The PiDataSource item establishes the connection to the PI system.

Guidelines

• You can add the data source to any applications folder or group them in an ApplicationFolder.

• A project can contain multiple PI data sources.

To add a PI data source

1. In the Project Explorer right-click System Configuration, point to Add Item, point to Standard Items, then select Applications Folder. An ApplicationsFolder item appears.

2. Rename the folder with a meaningful name.

3. Right-click the folder, point to Add Item, point to Connectors, then select PI. A PiDataSource item appears.

   

4. Rename the item with a meaningful name.
