AVEVA™ Production Management

About Planning

  • Last UpdatedMar 17, 2025
  • 2 minute read

Planning bridges the gap between the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and the plant floor. Planning provides production supervisors and planners with tools for achieving the most efficient use of the available plant, equipment, and resources. This includes activities such as:

  • Scheduling production orders

  • Planned maintenance activities

  • Standby periods

What it means for production planners

  • Production Planners and Schedulers can visualize production plans and optimize local schedules independently of the ERP system.

  • Maintenance Managers can see that the production schedule accounts for important maintenance tasks (that may require a plant stoppage).

A scheduler or planner view showing a schedule for a specific activitiy ID from Monday to Thursday.

Planning with Recipe

You can use Planning alone, or with the Recipe extension.

The Recipe plug-in is available which provides support for implementation of the S.88 Batch Control standard. With Recipe, you can create and maintain recipes in AVEVA™ Production Management and download parameters to plant automation systems when you execute the recipe.
