Add and configure a recipe schema

  • Last UpdatedMar 19, 2025

A recipe schema is an associated set of recipe parameters. You can limit the valid parameters for a particular Planning reporting point or recipe. After you add a recipe, you can associate the recipe with a schema.

Types of recipe schemas

When you add schemas, keep in mind there are recipes schemas and machine recipe schemas. This keeps ingredient parameters and machine setting parameters separate.

  • Recipe schema - Contains ingredient parameters.

  • Machine recipe schema - Contains parameters that relate to machine settings, such as ovens.

You may have many different recipes that use the same oven settings. Therefore, the oven settings are not part of the recipe; they exist separately in a machine recipe schema.
