AVEVA™ Production Management

Understand Maintenance field types

For most fields, when AVEVA Production Management captures a maintenance record, AVEVA Production Management sends their current value to the data repository. However, you can configure some fields not to capture a value when AVEVA Production Management creates the record so that an operator can update the record in AVEVA Production Management.

Runtime field

A runtime field is a field that captures the number of seconds that the expression remains True. AVEVA Production Management can use this value to calculate the number of seconds that a machine was running over a period. For example, if the expression was "Conveyer Speed > 0", then AVEVA Production Management would calculate the number of seconds for which the machine was running.

Count field

A count field is a field that counts the number of times the value changes for the expression during the capture period (and remains "True"). AVEVA Production Management can use this value to capture the number of times that a machine starts. For example, if the expression was "Conveyer Speed > 0", then AVEVA Production Management would count the number of times the speed of the machine has fallen to zero and then risen above. Count fields can also count the number of alarms for the machine.

Accumulator field

An accumulator field is a field that relies upon a constantly increasing tag value. When a production record is captured, you do not want the actual value for the tag but the difference between the current value of the tag and the value of the last created record for the tag.
