The Item Search panel enables you search for items in the current project.
Note: The results in the Item Search panel do not auto refresh. If items have been modified in the project hierarchy, you will not see this reflected in the Item Search panel until you refresh. Rerun the Search to update the item results.
Display the Item Search tab

On the View menu, click Item Search.
Find items from Project Explorer

In Project Explorer, right-click an item in the project hierarchy, and click Show in Item Search. The search query returns all items directly below the searched item. In other words, all child items that are one level below the searched item. To return all levels below (multiple levels), use the Show descendants check box.

In the Item Search panel, right-click an item, and click Show in Explorer.
Show descendants
In large projects, selecting Show descendants can take a considerable amount of time to load data. We recommend that you minimize the search scope to reduce the amount of time needed to return the result data.

Select the Show descendants check box to show the children items of parent items.
Disabled cells
If a property does not apply to an item, the cell appears disabled.
